A controlled tongue

A CONTROLLED TONGUE

Indeed, we all make many mistakes. For if we could control our tongues, we would be perfect and could also control ourselves in every other way. (James 3:2 NLT).

When a person offends it’s because they are uncontrolled. We must learn to make a promise in the home to not use bad words or offenses. We shouldn’t verbally mistreat people because there is a line that shouldn’t be crossed. We shouldn’t shout or say bad words. Many people are used to speaking obscenely and using rude words, but the Bible encourages us to stop sinning with our mouths because we can light a whole fire with a small spark.

Sometimes we can hurt more with our words than our actions. There is poison in the tongue, and it can cause a lot of damage! We should ask the Holy Spirit to help us control our tongue.

Tips to solve conflicts in the family and not make the problem bigger:

Indeed, we all make many mistakes. For if we could control our tongues, we would be perfect and could also control ourselves in every other way. (James 3:2 NLT).

Think about it:

Have you offended your loved one with your words?
Who do you need to ask for forgiveness in your family?
Do you think it would be important to speak with your family about establishing rules to not cross the lines of respect?
