PRAYER SHOULD BE A LIFESTYLE
Prayer should not just be a one-time evento. An event is an occasion where we dress appropriately, but prayer should be a lifestyle. Our Lord desired to have communion at all times with Adam and Eve. When God created them, they had that daily communion with him. In these times, we should also do the same thing, even if we set a time apart to pray daily, we can also speak to him when we are driving, getting ready, etc.
THREE REASONS WHY IT BENEFITS US TO HAVE A PRAYER LIFESTYLE:
1.- Prayer helps us overcome temptation. In this world we are going to confront daily temptations. When we see people who constantly fall into temptation, we can conclude that their prayer life is not a lifestyle. Maybe they only pray every once in a while.
2.- Prayer gives us the courage to confront difficult situations in life. We are all going to experience stressful situations that can cause us fear, uncertainty, and anxiety. It can be a pain caused by a child, the pain of a sick parent, an alcoholic parent, job loss, family problems, bankruptcy, etc. Prayer every morning strengthens us. Jesus was strengthened in prayer in Gethsemane, before going to the cross. (Mark 14:32-39)
3.- Prayer is the only resource to maintain peace in such a difficult world. We can confront life with peace in our hearts, even in a world full of storms, difficulties, challenges, etc. Even in such an evil world, prayer brings us peace.
I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid. (John 14:27)
Never stop praying. (1 Thessalonians 5:17 NLT).
Think about it:
Are you battling with a temptation?
Are you in need of peace and strength in these moments?
What do you need to do to have prayer as a lifestyle?
