DON’T SUFFER OTHERS’ PROBLEMS
A prudent person foresees danger and takes precautions.
The simpleton goes blindly on and suffers the consequences. (Proverbs 22:3 NLT).
There are wise people and there are foolish people in this world. Many of us have made mistakes, but some of us learn from them, while others choose to keep making the same mistakes. They don’t listen to anyone’s advice, but then they come to us for help in getting them out of their messes.
There is a saying that goes like this, “Instead of giving someone a fish, teach them to fish.” It is good to help others with their problems, but let’s not make ourselves responsible for solving their conflicts all the time. It is not healthy for us.
Hot-tempered people must pay the penalty.
If you rescue them once, you will have to do it again. (Proverbs 19:19 NLT).
Remember that you are not God. We cannot control things that not even God controls, and we can’t change or force someone who not even God tries to change to do something.
Many times, we stress out about difficulties that are happening to those we love, but stressing is useless. We cannot let their difficulties turn into our responsibility.
Let’s learn to place limits on toxic people, and ask God to help us not take responsibility of others’ bad choices.

Think about it:
Have you been carrying burdens that are not yours to carry?
Have you gotten into problems trying to resolve others’ problems?
In what way do you think it will help to place limits on toxic people?
