Do not criticize the rich, but teach them

DO NOT CRITICIZE THE RICH, BUT TEACH THEM

Teach those who are rich in this world not to be proud and not to trust in their money, which is so unreliable. Their trust should be in God, who richly gives us all we need for our enjoyment. (1 Timothy 6:17 NLT)

I have observed that human beings can be very motivated by envy and we tend to criticize others that have what we do not have.
The poor criticize the rich; the divorced criticize the one that has a happy marriage; the one that has no house criticize the one that has many; the single person envy’s the married and the married envy those that are single. There is no contentment.

The Bible does not say that being rich is bad. It is true that some riches were obtained with lies and theft, but it is not always like that. Many times, they have been the result of the blessings of God, and the hard work of people.

Instead of judging and envying the rich let’s read this verse and learn a couple of things that we can do:

Teach those who are rich in this world not to be proud and not to trust in their money, which is so unreliable. Their trust should be in God, who richly gives us all we need for our enjoyment. (1 Timothy 6:17 NLT)

To be continued…

Think:

Do you tend to criticize others?
Are you happy with what you have?
What do you learn from this Bible verse?
