Recover the lost

RECOVER THE LOST

Abram recovered all the goods that had been taken, and he brought back his nephew Lot with his possessions and all the women and other captives. (Genesis 14:16 NTV)

Many times, in life, we feel that we’ve lost valuable things like close friendships, peace in the home, joy in life, maybe we’ve lost or had money stolen. We’ve suffered some type of injustice or betrayal, etc.

This has been, in part, because we have an enemy that hates us: The devil.

The Bible says that the purpose of the enemy of our souls is to steal, kill and destroy (John 10:10).

The good thing is that the Bible also encourages us to recover what has been lost.

But if he is caught, he must pay back seven times what he stole,
even if he has to sell everything in his house. (Prov. 6:31 NTV)

We have two options: We can lament and become depressed, or we can be like Abram and pursue the enemy until we recover what we had lost.

When Abram heard that his nephew Lot had been captured, he mobilized the 318 trained men who had been born into his household. Then he pursued Kedorlaomer’s army until he caught up with them at Dan. (Genesis 14:14 NLT)

Recover your joy, your purpose, your career, your happiness, your family and the years lost. “Lord, give me your grace in this year 2020 to recover what the enemy had stolen in my life”.

Abram recovered all the goods that had been taken, and he brought back his nephew Lot with his possessions and all the women and other captives. (Genesis 14:16 NTV)

Think about it:
What do you need to recover that the enemy has stolen from you?
How have you acted in the face of losses?
What can you do to not let the enemy steal your joy?
