And what the priests do, the people also do. So now I will punish both priests and people for their wicked deeds. (Hosea 4:9 NLT)

When I read the word “priest” in this passage, it speaks to me about leadership.
It represents not only a priest, but includes everyone who has influence on people. It can be a teacher, a supervisor, a parent at home, etc.

1. The leader. 
This speaks to me of the importance of our example.
As a parent I must remember that my children will not do what I tell them, but what I model for them.

A child responded to his father when he was complaining to him because he didn’t obey him: “Sorry daddy, I can’t listen to you, because what you do speaks louder than what you say.”
