Don’t be affected by what others think of you

DON’T BE AFFECTED BY WHAT OTHERS THINK OF YOU

Part 1

…When she saw King David skipping about and laughing with joy, she was filled with contempt for him.(1 Chronicles 15:29 NLT)

Somewhere I read about 20-4–60

At 20 years old I’m affected by what others think of me.

At 40 years old I don’t care what others think of me.

At 60 years old I realize that no one was thinking of me.

David was so overjoyed when he finally saw the ark of God entering his city that he couldn’t hold back and began to express much joy by jumping.

But his wife Michal looked down on him and criticized him for it, but David didn’t really care what she thought, but what God would think of him.

We live in a comparison society. This leads to contempt and insecurity.

For example, reality shows put pressure to be like others.

Fashion tells you that if you don’t bring clothes of a certain brand you are left behind, etc.

To be continued…

Think about it:

Do you try to be like everyone else to be accepted?

Have you put God aside for criticism?

What is more important to you, pleasing people or God?
