I have called you

I HAVE CALLED YOU

“I, the Lord, have called You in righteousness, and will hold Your hand; I will keep You and give You as a covenant to the people, as a light to the Gentiles, to open blind eyes, to bring out prisoners from the prison, those who sit in darkness from the prison house.”
Isaiah 42:6-7 (NKJV)
God reminds us that we have been called with a special purpose: to manifest His righteousness and be a light to others. This calling is not only a privilege but also a responsibility. He promises to guide, protect, and strengthen us to fulfill His mission for our lives.
Six Aspects of the Divine Calling

  1. A Call to Manifest His Righteousness
God has chosen us to be instruments that reflect His righteousness in a world filled with injustice. This means living with integrity and promoting fairness and love in our relationships and actions.
  2. God Takes Our Hand and Protects Us
We are not alone in our mission. He holds us and guards us, assuring us that we can fulfill His purpose even in the face of challenges and adversities.
  3. A Symbol of His Covenant
We are visible representatives of God’s covenant with His people. Our lives should testify to His faithfulness, love, and grace.
  4. A Light to the Nations
God calls us to illuminate the paths of those in spiritual darkness. By reflecting His light, we guide others toward the truth and hope that only He can offer.
  5. To Open the Eyes of the Blind
This calling includes helping those who cannot see the reality of God’s grace, sharing His Word so their lives may be transformed.
  6. To Set the Captives Free
Through the message of the Gospel, we are sent to bring freedom to those trapped by sin, fear, and despair, offering hope and restoration to their hearts.

Reflect on This:

  1. How can you reflect God’s righteousness in your daily life?
  2. In what ways can you be a light to the people around you?
  3. What specific actions can you take to help free those trapped in despair or sin?
