They Will Cross the Sea of Distress

They Will Cross the Sea of Distress

“They will pass safely through the sea of distress,
for the waves of the sea will be held back,
and the waters of the Nile will dry up.
The pride of Assyria will be crushed,
and the rule of Egypt will end.”

Zechariah 10:11 (NLT)
Distress is a state of anxiety and fear in the face of danger, uncertainty, or the threat of misfortune. We all face moments in life when we feel trapped in a sea of problems, unable to see a clear way out. However, God’s Word assures us that we will not remain there. He promises that we will cross to the other side, that He will give us the strength and wisdom to overcome any obstacle.
How to Successfully Cross the Sea of Distress

  1. God Guarantees That We Will Not Stay Stuck
“They will pass safely through the sea of distress…” (Zechariah 10:11, NLT).

Depression, fear, and adversity are not our final destination. God has prepared a way for us to come out victorious.

  1. Problems Will Not Last Forever
The waves will be held back, the turbulent waters will dry up, and what seemed impossible will be overcome. What troubles you today has an end because God has the final word.
  2. The Enemy’s Attacks Will Not Prosper
“The pride of Assyria will be crushed, and the rule of Egypt will end.” (Zechariah 10:11, NLT).

Any attempt of the enemy to destroy us will be frustrated. God is our defender and guarantees our victory.

  1. God Gives Us Power and Strength to Overcome
“By my power, I will make my people strong…” (Zechariah 10:12, NLT).

We do not rely on our own strength. God strengthens us through His Holy Spirit to face any challenge and move forward.

  1. God Gives Us Direction and Authority
“And by my authority, they will go wherever they wish.” (Zechariah 10:12, NLT).

He not only gives us strength but also guides us and grants us the authority to move forward. We are not at the mercy of fate; God has paved our way.
No matter how great the storm, God assures us that we will cross to the other side. His power strengthens us, His wisdom guides us, and His authority supports us in every step we take.
“They will pass safely through the sea of distress,
for the waves of the sea will be held back,
and the waters of the Nile will dry up.
The pride of Assyria will be crushed,
and the rule of Egypt will end.
By my power, I will make my people strong,
and by my authority, they will go wherever they wish.
I, the Lord, have spoken!”

Zechariah 10:11-12 (NLT)
Think About It:
• Is there a situation in your life that makes you feel trapped in a sea of distress?
• Are you trusting in God’s strength and authority to cross to the other side?
• How can you remind yourself daily that problems do not last forever and that God will lead you to victory?
