THERE IS A DIFFERENCE WHEN I PUT MY TRUST
Who is your trust in? The downfall of humanity begins when we start depending on things or people instead of God. The Bible clearly shows the difference between those who trust in the Lord and those who put their trust in man.
1. Those Who Trust in God Are Blessed and Strengthened
The Word tells us that those who trust in the Lord are like trees planted by a river. Their deep roots allow them to withstand drought and continue bearing fruit. No matter the difficulties they face, their trust is in God, not in circumstances.
“But blessed are those who trust in the Lord
and have made the Lord their hope and confidence.
They are like trees planted along a riverbank,
with roots that reach deep into the water.
Such trees are not bothered by the heat
or worried by long months of drought.
Their leaves stay green,
and they never stop producing fruit.”
Jeremiah 17:7-8 (NLT)
Moreover, God promises peace to those who put their trust in Him.
“You will keep in perfect peace
all who trust in you,
all whose thoughts are fixed on you!”
Isaiah 26:3 (NLT)
2. Those Who Trust in Man End in Failure
The Bible gives us clear examples of those who chose to depend on other people instead of God and the consequences they faced. Asa, king of Judah, placed his trust in a foreign king instead of seeking the Lord’s help. As a result, he lost the opportunity for victory and faced years of war.
“Because you put your trust in the king of Aram
instead of in the Lord your God,
you missed your chance to destroy the army of the king of Aram.
Don’t you remember what happened to the Ethiopians and Libyans
and their vast army, with all their chariots and charioteers?
At that time you relied on the Lord,
and he handed them over to you.
The eyes of the Lord search the whole earth
in order to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to him.
What a fool you have been! From now on you will be at war.”
2 Chronicles 16:7-8 (NLT)
3. Trust in God Never Fails
- When we trust in God, He sustains and strengthens us.
- When we trust in people, we face uncertainty and failure.
- Trusting in God brings stability, peace, and blessing.
- Trusting in people is unstable and can collapse at any moment.
God is seeking hearts that depend completely on Him. His faithfulness is unshakable, and His promises are secure. Put your trust in the Lord, and you will see His support in every area of your life.
Think About It:
- Where are you placing your trust today? In your abilities, in people, or in God?
- How can you strengthen your faith to trust more in the Lord instead of in circumstances?
- What practical steps can you take to depend more on God in your daily life?
