I Will Follow Someone Who Is Always the Same

I Will Follow Someone Who Is Always the Same

But You are the same, And Your years will have no end.
Psalm 102:27 (NKJV)

In a world full of constant changes, broken promises, and passing leaders, there is a truth that remains unshakable: God never changes. This statement from the psalmist is an anchor for our lives. While everything around us shifts or fades away, the character, faithfulness, and power of God remain the same. Following Christ is not a trend or a tradition—it is a conscious decision to trust the One who lives and reigns forever.

  1. Every human being is temporary, but God is eternal
Throughout history, wise, powerful, and religious men have influenced generations, but all had a beginning and an end. Only God remains. That truth should give us perspective and direction when deciding whom we will follow.
  2. Jesus Christ does not change
Hebrews 13:8 tells us that Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. This means His love, His power, and His truth are eternal. He does not adapt to the times or change with culture. He is trustworthy, constant, and secure.
  3. Everything created wears out, but God remains
The same psalm declares that the heavens and the earth will grow old like a garment. Nothing in this world is eternal—not human knowledge, nor structures, nor systems. That is why we must place our hope in the One who remains.
  4. Following Christ is a decision that heals
When we choose to follow someone eternal, firm, and faithful, our soul finds peace. Christ not only gives us direction; He gives us healing, purpose, and abundant life. Following Him is deciding to walk in safety and truth.
  5. Jesus is worthy of our trust
We are not following an ordinary man; we follow God Himself. Jesus rose from the dead, lives forever, and reigns with justice. He will not fail us, abandon us, or change His mind about us.

But You are the same, And Your years will have no end.
Psalm 102:27 (NKJV)

Think About It:
• Have I been following something or someone that is temporary?
• Do I fully trust that Jesus is the same and will never change?
• What decisions do I need to make today to show that I have chosen to follow Christ?
