Speak to Me, Lord

Speak to Me, Lord

“Tell me, my love, where are you leading your flock today? Where will you rest your sheep at noon?”
Song of Songs 1:7 (NLT)

This verse reflects the deep longing of a bride to closely follow the footsteps of her beloved. Spiritually applied, it is the cry of the church to her bridegroom, Christ. As pastors, leaders, or committed members of the body of Christ, we too must draw near with this attitude: “Speak to me, Lord…” We need His daily guidance to lead His people rightly, to teach what He wants to say, and to pray according to His heart. It’s not about our ideas, but about His will.
Speak to me, Lord, where do You want to lead Your flock today?
I cannot lead others if I haven’t first heard Your voice. I need Your direction to guide Your church into Your purpose.
Speak to me, Lord, where will You rest Your sheep?
Show me how to bring rest to the weary, the stressed, those carrying internal battles. Let every word, every prayer, every action I take today bring Your peace.
Speak to me, Lord, what teaching does Your church need today?
I don’t want to preach my ideas—I want to be a channel for what You are speaking right now. Give me fresh revelation to nourish the flock.
Speak to me, Lord, who do You need me to pray for today?
Maybe someone is on the verge of giving up, and You are calling me to intercede for them. I want to be sensitive to Your voice to lift up the broken.
Speak to me, Lord, and I will obey with humility and passion
I don’t want to walk by sight or impulse. I want to walk by direction. Where You lead, I want to be. What You do, I want to do.

“Tell me, my love, where are you leading your flock today? Where will you rest your sheep at noon?”
Song of Songs 1:7 (NLT)

Think About It:

  1. Am I taking daily time to ask God what He wants to do with His church, His people, His flock?
  2. Am I seeking His guidance before making decisions in my leadership or service?
  3. What changes do I need to make in my prayer life to hear the voice of my Beloved more clearly?
