Build According to the Pattern
“And you shall raise up the tabernacle according to its pattern which you were shown on the mountain.”
Exodus 26:30 (NKJV)
God gave Moses specific instructions on how to set up the tabernacle, making it clear that he could not do it his own way, but only according to the divine pattern. This principle applies not only to the construction of that tabernacle, but also to our whole lives. We may try many ways of doing things, but only when we follow God’s pattern do we find fulfillment, blessing, and lasting success.
Build what God commands you
The word “build” speaks of action, effort, and obedience. It is not enough to know the pattern; it is necessary to work according to it, building with dedication and perseverance what God has placed in our hands.
God has a perfect pattern
Though the world offers many ways of doing things, God’s pattern guarantees results that remain. His Word is the sure guide to build our lives, our homes, and our future.
The pattern in marriage
Many build marriage their own way, but only God’s pattern brings true blessing. To love, forgive, honor, and serve one another are the foundations the Lord established for a joyful and lasting home.
The pattern in finances
The world teaches that the less we give, the more we will have. However, God’s pattern says the opposite: “The generous soul will be made rich” (Proverbs 11:25 NKJV). When we are faithful in tithes and offerings, God multiplies what we have and makes it stretch further than if we had kept it all.
The pattern in spiritual life
Spiritual success is not measured by human methods but by living in obedience to the Word and under the guidance of the Holy Spirit. God’s pattern leads us to a life of holiness, service, and abundant fruit.
The Lord has already given us a pattern for every area of life: family, ministry, business, relationships, finances, and spiritual life. The challenge is to build according to His design and not our own, so that our work may be firm and pleasing before Him.
“And you shall raise up the tabernacle according to its pattern which you were shown on the mountain.”
Exodus 26:30 (NKJV)
Think About It:
- In what areas of your life are you building according to your own patterns instead of following God’s?
- What practical steps can you take to align your marriage, finances, or ministry to the divine pattern?
- What promises of blessing will you receive if you choose to obey God’s pattern instead of human methods?
