To Sin Against a Partner Is to Be Unfaithful to the Lord

To Sin Against a Partner Is to Be Unfaithful to the Lord

“If a person sins and commits a trespass against the Lord by lying to his neighbor about what was delivered to him for safekeeping, or about a pledge, or about a robbery, or if he has extorted from his neighbor.”
Leviticus 6:2 (NKJV)

This passage teaches us that our relationships with others are not only a horizontal matter, but also vertical. That is, what we do with people has a direct impact on our relationship with God. When we deceive, cheat, or act unjustly toward another, we are not only harming a human being, but also failing the Lord, who calls us to live in righteousness.

Living in integrity in our relationships and dealings is not optional for a child of God. This way we honor His name, avoid harming others, and walk in obedience to His will.
