Meek

Meek

Blessed are the meek, For they shall inherit the earth.
Matthew 5:5 (NKJV)

Meekness is a virtue that is often misunderstood. In a culture that exalts aggressiveness and domination, being meek can seem like a synonym for weakness. However, the Bible presents meekness as a deeply spiritual inner strength. It is not a lack of character, but self-control; not passivity, but power submitted to the will of God.

Meekness does not oppose courage; it completes it. God promises inheritance, influence, and authority to those who learn to live with controlled power and a surrendered heart. To be meek is not to be less; it is to be more like Christ.

Blessed are the meek, For they shall inherit the earth.
Matthew 5:5 (NKJV)

Think About It:

  1. Do I react from impulse or from self-control when I face conflict?
  2. Do I confuse meekness with weakness in the way I think or act?
  3. In what area of my life is God calling me to exercise strength with greater meekness?
