Miraculous Signs
A huge crowd kept following him wherever he went, because they saw his miraculous signs as he healed the sick. John 6:2 (NLT)
Someone once said that miracles are the church’s bells. They are what draw people in—a living church, not a dead one. Today, as I read my Bible, I notice that people followed Jesus for that very reason: because they saw the miraculous signs He performed when He healed the sick.
-
Miracles increase credibility and influence.
The supernatural lifestyle of Jesus and the miracles He performed caused His credibility and influence to grow in society. They were the proof that His message came from God. -
Our lifestyle should glorify God.
The reminder for me today is that my lifestyle should bring glory to God. My success and my confidence should not rest in myself but in God. -
Influence must be based on God’s power, not human wisdom.
For many years, since I began preaching, my intention has been that my influence would not be based on my own human wisdom but on the power of God, just as the apostle Paul expressed. -
The power of God ensures that faith rests in Him.
Paul said, “I came to you in weakness—timid and trembling… I relied only on the power of the Holy Spirit. I did this so you would trust not in human wisdom but in the power of God.” (1 Corinthians 2:3–5, NLT) -
We must learn from the model of Jesus.
The ultimate goal is that people do not follow a man but follow God. Paul learned well from Jesus Christ, and I also want to learn well from Him.
A living church is one that, like Jesus, operates in the supernatural power of God. We do not seek signs for the spectacle, but because they confirm the Word and draw people to the One who holds all power. May our faith—and the faith of those we minister to—not depend on clever speeches, but on the demonstrated power of the Holy Spirit.

Think About It:
-
Are you actively seeking the supernatural power of God (miracles, healings) in your daily life?
-
Is your influence on others (family, work, church) based on your own wisdom or on dependence on the power of God?
-
How can you ensure that the glory for your successes goes to God and not to yourself?
