The Winds

The Winds

At the blast of Your breath, the waters piled up! The surging waters stood straight like a wall; in the heart of the sea the waters became hard.
Exodus 15:8 (NLT)

In this passage, God shows His power over creation as He opens the sea so Israel can cross on dry ground while Egypt is judged. The same wind that brought protection to God’s people brought destruction to their enemies. In this we understand that divine winds not only produce miracles, but also changes, movement, and repositioning in the lives of those who trust in Him.

  • The winds of God produce the supernatural
Just as the wind formed solid walls of water, God can intervene in the impossible to open paths where none exist.
  • The same wind can judge and protect
The east wind brought judgment to Egypt but at the same time kept Israel safe. God knows how to separate and distinguish.
  • There are winds of judgment and winds of blessing
God uses different spiritual “winds” to move situations, close cycles, or bring favor, peace, and progress.
  • The Holy Spirit blows to cleanse and reposition
When God blows, He removes what hinders, drives away what is harmful, and brings into our lives what we need to fulfill His purpose.
  • Divine winds align our lives with God’s will
He is able to place us in the right place, with the right people, and at the right time to advance in the assignment He has given us.

Today we ask the Holy Spirit to blow winds of blessing over our life, our home, the church, and the entire body of Christ. May the western winds remove what is not beneficial, keep us in the right position, and bring those whom God has assigned to walk with us in this season.

Think About It:

  1. What do you need the winds of the Spirit to remove or reposition in your life?
  2. Are you in the right position to receive what God is blowing in this season?
  3. What people do you need God to bring into your life to fulfill His purpose?
