Don’t Keep It to Yourself with Your CG
But if we are living in the light, as God is in the light, then we have fellowship with each other, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, cleanses us from all sin. If we claim we have no sin, we are only fooling ourselves and not living in the truth.
1 John 1:7–8 (NLT)
If you want your Connection Group to grow in spiritual and relational depth, it is necessary to take a step beyond the superficial. True fellowship is not built by hiding wounds, but by walking together in the light. God uses honesty and vulnerability to bring healing, freedom, and genuine growth.
- True fellowship requires living in the light
Living in the light means being honest about who we are and what we are going through. When we stop pretending and choose truth, the door opens to real and transforming fellowship. - Healing begins when we stop pretending
Saying “I’m fine” when we are not prevents others from helping us. God cannot heal what we hide. Transparency is the beginning of the restoration process. - The CG is a safe place to share pain
A healthy Connection Group is a space where bad days, difficult news, inner struggles, and seasons of spiritual dryness can be shared. When we speak up, we allow others to encourage us, pray for us, and walk alongside us. - We are all imperfect and in need of grace
Your group already knows you are not perfect, because none of us are. Pretending otherwise only creates distance. Grace flows when we acknowledge our shared need for God. - God uses vulnerability to bring collective healing
Scripture teaches that when we confess our sins and pray for one another, we are healed. Sharing weaknesses, more than strengths, inspires faith and hope in others and reminds us that God can work in any circumstance.
When we choose not to keep what hurts to ourselves and instead share it in community, God transforms our crises into testimonies. Healing is not a solitary journey; it is a process God designed to be lived together.
But if we are living in the light, as God is in the light, then we have fellowship with each other, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, cleanses us from all sin. If we claim we have no sin, we are only fooling ourselves and not living in the truth.

Think About It:
- What situation, wound, or struggle do you need to share with your CG in order to walk in the light?
- What fears keep you from being vulnerable even with people you trust?
- How could God use your honesty to bring healing not only to your life, but also to the lives of others?
