The Excitement of a Future Vision
Yet what we suffer now is nothing compared to the glory he will reveal to us later.
Romans 8:18 (NLT)
As believers, we do not live only by what we see in the present, but by what God has promised for our future. The apostle Paul understood that although life can bring moments of pain, difficulty, and trial, there is a coming glory that surpasses all suffering. Having a future vision in God fills our heart with hope, gives us strength to continue, and reminds us that the best is yet to come.
- A future vision helps us endure the present
When we understand that our current suffering is temporary, we can face it with a different perspective. Pain stops being the end of the story and becomes part of the process. The vision of what God will do gives us the strength to persevere without giving up. - God’s promise is greater than any difficulty
Paul declares that what we suffer now is “nothing compared” to the coming glory. This reminds us that God has prepared something far greater than we can imagine. Present difficulties cannot overshadow the greatness of the future God has promised. - A future vision strengthens our faith
Faith grows when we look beyond our circumstances. When we keep our eyes on God’s promises, our confidence is strengthened. We know that God is faithful and that He will fulfill everything He has said. - Hope produces anticipated joy
Even though we do not yet see the full glory, we can experience joy now. Hope in God produces a holy excitement in our heart, a certainty that He is working and that our future is secure in His hands. - Our perspective changes when we look at the eternal
When we live focused only on the present, it is easy to become discouraged. But when we set our eyes on the eternal, our priorities change. We learn to live with patience, confidence, and assurance in God’s perfect plan.
God wants you to live with the excitement of knowing that your story does not end in suffering, but in glory. Every trial is temporary, but His promise is eternal. Keep your eyes on the future He has prepared, because that vision will give you the strength, joy, and perseverance to move forward in faith.
Yet what we suffer now is nothing compared to the glory he will reveal to us later.
Romans 8:18 (NLT)
Think About It:
- Am I focusing my life on present difficulties or on God’s future promises?
- How does my attitude change when I remember that God has prepared a greater glory?
- What promise from God can I remember today to strengthen my hope and faith?
