The Foundation
If the foundations are destroyed, what can the righteous do?
Psalm 11:3 (NLT)
Foundations are decisive in any construction. A building may look beautiful on the outside, but if its foundation is weak, sooner or later it will collapse. In the same way, marriage, family, and the course of our lives require a solid foundation. Scripture confronts us with a profound question that invites us to examine what we are truly building upon.
- God is the foundation of every stable life
Beyond many important values, there is one essential foundation: God. Acknowledging that He exists and is real in our lives changes our focus; it is no longer about us, but about Him. Everything begins when God occupies the central place. - Denying God produces confusion and loss of purpose
A person without conviction in the existence of God tends to live without clear direction. They believe their life is the product of chance rather than divine design. Scripture is clear in affirming that denying God leads to a life without direction and to misguided decisions. - Believing in God affirms our identity
When we know that God is real, we understand who we are and why we are here. Our identity does not depend on circumstances, achievements, or failures, but on the One who created us with intention and purpose. - Jesus Christ is the eternal foundation
It is not enough to believe that God exists; we must have the conviction that Jesus Christ is God and the Savior of the world. He is not a legend nor merely a good man, but the living foundation upon which a firm and redeemed life is built. - A correct foundation defines our mission
When God is the foundation, life takes on meaning. It becomes easier to define our mission and walk with clarity on this journey called life. True success is not going far, but building on the right foundation.
If the foundations are destroyed, everything else becomes fragile. But when God is the foundation, even in the midst of crisis and challenges, the righteous remain firm, with hope and clear direction.
If the foundations are destroyed, what can the righteous do?
Psalm 11:3 (NLT)
Think About It:
- What foundation are you building your life and decisions on today?
- Are there areas where God needs to return to the central place?
- How would your way of living change if you affirmed each day that God is your true foundation?
