Make Others Believe in Themselves
Because of the privilege and authority God has given me, I give each of you this warning: Don’t think you are better than you really are. Be honest in your evaluation of yourselves, measuring yourselves by the faith God has given us. Romans 12:3 (NLT)
God has placed within each person a measure of faith, value, and purpose. However, many people fail to see what God has deposited in them. As believers, we are called not only to grow personally but also to help others recognize their value and their potential in God. When we build others up, we help them walk with confidence and fulfill the purpose God has given them.
- God has given value and purpose to every person The verse reminds us that everyone has received a measure of faith. No one is empty or without purpose. God has deposited something special in every life, and we must learn to recognize it in ourselves and in others.
- Humility allows us to build others up correctly When we live with humility, we do not seek to feel superior, but rather to help others grow. Humility creates an environment where people can develop and discover their purpose.
- Our words can strengthen the faith of others A word of encouragement can help someone see what they did not see in themselves before. God can use our words to awaken faith, hope, and confidence in others.
- Building others up is part of our calling God calls us to be instruments of growth in the lives of others. We can help, teach, encourage, and guide. When we invest in others, we participate in God’s plan.
- When we help others grow, we fulfill God’s purpose Growth is not just personal. God blesses us so that we may be a blessing. Helping others believe in themselves also strengthens our own faith and allows us to live with greater purpose.
God wants to use you to lift others up. Your words, your example, and your support can make a huge difference. When you help others see what God sees in them, you become an instrument of His love and purpose. Live with humility and decide to build lives, because that is the heart of God.

Think About It:
- Am I using my words to build up and encourage others?
- Am I helping others recognize the purpose God has given them?
What can I do today to strengthen the faith and confidence of someone else?
