Guard your circle
(your anointing and vision)
They will join you in your duties of caring for the Tabernacle, but no unauthorized person may go near you. But you and your sons, the priests, must personally handle all the ritual duties concerning the altar and everything behind the inner curtain. I am giving you the priesthood as a service of gift. Any unauthorized person who comes near the sanctuary will be put to death. Numbers 18:4, 7
In the life of faith, God calls us to be light for everyone, but He does not allow everyone to have access to the altar of our intimacy and ministry. In the ancient tabernacle, there were clearly defined circles of proximity: while some helped with external tasks, only those with a specific assignment could enter the most holy place. This biblical principle teaches us that we must be intentional with our closest circle. Your anointing and the vision that God has given you are sacred treasures that can be contaminated if you allow “unauthorized” people—those who do not share your faith, your commitment, or your fear of God—to influence the deepest decisions of your spiritual life.
- The distinction between help and access God appointed the Levites to help Aaron, but forbade them from entering the inner sanctuary. In your life, there will be many people who surround you and collaborate with you, but not everyone is qualified to understand the vision that God has placed in your heart. You must know how to distinguish between those who are there to help you in the everyday and those who are authorized by God to touch the fibers of your destiny.
- The priesthood as a gift of service Your calling and your communion with God are a gift, not a right. Valuing this gift involves protecting it from external influences that may diminish its importance. When you allow people without spiritual vision to advise your life, you run the risk of treating as common what God has declared sacred.
- The protection of the inner curtain Behind the curtain was the very presence of God. In your life, that is the place of your prayer and your deepest dreams. If you open that curtain to people with cynical, unbelieving, or carnal attitudes, their lack of faith can act as a poison that weakens your anointing. There are secrets of your vision that should only be shared with those who walk in your same spiritual direction.
- The consequences of unauthorized access The warning that the unauthorized person would die sounds severe, but it reminds us that God’s holiness cannot be taken lightly. Spiritually speaking, when we allow people with bad intentions or a lack of fear of God to involve themselves in our “sacred zone,” something in our passion and purity begins to die. Guarding your circle is, in reality, an act of spiritual survival.
Not everyone who approaches you has divine permission to influence your life. As a child of God and a servant of His Kingdom, you have the responsibility to raise walls of discernment. Love everyone, serve everyone, but allow only the “authorized”—those who push you toward holiness and faith—to enter the sanctuary of your private life. At the same time, by guarding your circle, you are honoring the anointing that the Holy Spirit has poured out on you and ensuring that the vision God gave you reaches its full fulfillment without distractions or contamination.

Think About It:
- Are there people in your innermost circle who, instead of feeding your vision, are contaminating your faith with doubts or carnality?
- What areas of your spiritual life have you left exposed to people who do not value the sacred?
- Ask the Holy Spirit today to give you discernment to identify those you should keep in the outer court and those you can allow to enter your personal sanctuary.
