The Art of Instructing for Eternity

The Art of Instructing for Eternity

Direct your children onto the right path, and when they are older, they will not leave it. Proverbs 22:6 NLT

In a world that fiercely competes for the attention and heart of our children, spiritual education cannot be something we leave to chance or solely to Sunday school. Protecting the faith of the new generations requires daily intentionality and a deep commitment on the part of parents and leaders. The instruction the proverb writer speaks of is not a simple repetition of rules, but the art of “initiating” or “training” a child in a living relationship with their Creator. If we do not strive to mark the right path today, the world’s system will take care of tracing routes for them that lead them away from their eternal purpose.

Do not allow the distractions of modern life to steal the sacred time of forming our children. The greatest inheritance we can leave them is not a bank account or an academic degree, but a heart that knows and loves God. Protecting their faith is an act of spiritual warfare and deep love; it is ensuring that the torch of the Gospel remains lit in the generations to come. Today is the day to resume our role as guides and mentors, trusting that the Lord will multiply our seed and guard the hearts of our little ones until the end.

Direct your children onto the right path, and when they are older, they will not leave it. Proverbs 22:6 NLT

Think About It:

Identify a key biblical truth that your children need to strengthen today and look for a creative way to teach it to them through an activity or conversation.
