Throughout the reign of King Asa, we contemplate great moments of faith and victory when the people of Judah relied entirely on divine guidance and protection. However, in his final years of rule, faced with a new military threat, Asa took a different path and sought strategic alliances with the king of Aram using the treasures of the temple. In the face of this lack of faith, the Lord sent the prophet Hanani to confront the king and remind him of an eternal truth: God does not look for human strategies or resources, but for lives whose faith remains firm and without reservation. This passage invites us to examine where or in whom our true security is placed in our daily walk.

- The consequences of self-sufficiency: Turning one’s back on divine backing to act in pride deprives the believer of peace and exposes them to fighting unnecessary battles in their own strength.
Dear church, let us examine the disposition of our heart today and detect if we have fallen into the temptation of putting our trust in the resources of this world. Let us remember that God is still searching for passionate believers who choose to depend fully on His power. Let us maintain a firm and wholehearted faith to experience daily the sustenance and victory that come only from above.
