The Pride of Knowing God

The Pride of Knowing God

«But those who wish to boast should boast in this alone: that they truly know me and understand that I am the Lord who demonstrates unfailing love and who brings justice and righteousness to the earth, and that I delight in these things. I, the Lord, have spoken!» Jeremiah 9:24 NLT

In our daily walk, the world constantly urges us to seek recognition through our achievements, possessions, titles, or intellectual abilities. We are taught to take pride in what we have built with our own hands. However, in the book of the prophet Jeremiah, God confronts us with an eternal perspective that completely transforms our scale of values. While Israel placed its trust and glory in its own wisdom and power, the Lord raised His voice to remind them that a person’s true greatness resides not in what they have or know, but in whom they know.

Dear church, let us not allow the distractions or applause of this world to divert our hearts from what truly matters. May our greatest joy and our only boast be walking each morning in intimate communion with our Lord, allowing His unfailing love to transform our lives and the lives of those around us.

«But those who wish to boast should boast in this alone: that they truly know me and understand that I am the Lord who demonstrates unfailing love and who brings justice and righteousness to the earth, and that I delight in these things. I, the Lord, have spoken!» Jeremiah 9:24 NLT

Think About It:

  1. In what things or achievements do you tend to seek your personal value instead of seeking it in your relationship with God?
  2. In what practical way can you deepen your knowledge of the Lord’s character this week?

How can you reflect God’s unfailing love, justice, and righteousness in your home or workplace today?
