There Is No Human Power Against God
«Then Asa cried out to the Lord his God: “O Lord, no one but you can help the powerless against the mighty! Help us, O Lord our God, for we trust in you alone. It is in your name that we have come against this vast horde. O Lord, you are our God; do not let mere men prevail against you!”» 2 Chronicles 14:11 NLT
In the history of the kingdom of Judah, King Asa faced an overwhelmingly massive threat when an immense army marched against his people. Despite having prepared his soldiers and fortified his cities, Asa immediately recognized that human resources and strategies were completely insufficient given the magnitude of the challenge. Instead of giving in to panic or relying on military strength, the king turned to the only true refuge: Almighty God. Dear church, when life’s problems seem gigantic and our strength seems minuscule, let us remember King Asa’s prayer. A believer’s victory does not depend on the size of their own resources, but on the greatness of the God in whom they have placed their trust. Let us rest in His sovereign power today and always.
