Remember Where Your Beauty Comes From

Remember Where Your Beauty Comes From

“Your fame went out among the nations because of your beauty, for it was perfect through My splendor which I had bestowed on you,” says the Lord God. “But you trusted in your own beauty, played the harlot because of your fame,…” Ezekiel 16:14-15 NKJV

In life, success, recognition, talent, or physical attractiveness can open many doors for us and give us a place of influence before others. However, when the blessings and gifts that God has given us begin to be applauded by the world, we run the grave danger of falling into the trap of pride and vanity. Often, human beings tend to forget the origin of their virtues, attributing merits to themselves and trusting in their own beauty or ability, instead of recognizing that everything good comes from the hands of God. This subtle but destructive attitude distances us from our source of life and leads us to deviate from the purpose for which we were created.

God’s favor and blessings in our lives must never be a reason for pride, but for profound gratitude. Every gift, skill, or recognition we receive must be channeled to glorify His name and serve the people around us. Let us guard our hearts from the trap of pride, always remembering that our true beauty and value come from being planted and connected to the One who gave us life.

“Your fame went out among the nations because of your beauty, for it was perfect through My splendor which I had bestowed on you,” says the Lord God. “But you trusted in your own beauty, played the harlot because of your fame,…” Ezekiel 16:14-15 NKJV
