The Delay Is Over

The Delay Is Over

“Therefore, tell them, ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says: No more delay! I will now do everything I have threatened. I, the Sovereign Lord, have spoken!’” Ezekiel 12:28 NLT

In the book of Ezekiel, we find a crucial moment where the people thought that God’s words would be delayed indefinitely or that they simply would not be fulfilled. However, God interrupts that mindset by emphatically declaring that the waiting time has come to an end. Although in its original context this was a declaration about the imminent fulfillment of judgment against sin, this principle reveals to us a powerful truth about the divine character: God does not delay His words. Just as He is faithful to fulfill His warnings and prophecies of punishment to a sinful people, He is also faithful and exact in fulfilling the promises of blessing, restoration, and success that He has spoken over our lives.

  • Appropriate the word for blessing Just as this verse says that the delay of God’s threats is over, today we can appropriate that same power and declare that the delay of blessings for us is also over.
  • Believe for total fulfillment There are promises from God’s Word and prophetic words that we have received over the years that perhaps have only been partially fulfilled. We must declare in the name of Jesus Christ that the delay of the total fulfillment of those promises of blessing in our lives is over.
  • Walk in a fresh anointing We must ask the Lord for His anointing for this period of time and this specific mission, which will allow us to wake up to a new day with a fresh, clean, uncompromising anointing and with a new enthusiasm.
  • Remove everything that drains us Upon entering this new season, we must pray that, because of God’s anointing, every evil spirit and every person who had the assignment to drain us, our spouse, or our family will be removed from us.
  • Attract the right relationships At the same time that we distance ourselves from the negative, we must believe that the people who have the divine assignment to bless us, prosper us, and advance us in the fulfillment of our original purpose will be attracted to our lives.

The time of prolonged waiting has come to an end, and God’s best is about to manifest in your family, your ministry, and your finances. Do not allow past experiences or half-fulfilled promises to rob you of the expectation of what God will do today. Stay positioned in obedience, walk with confidence under open heavens, and remember that the Lord’s goodness and mercy will follow you all the days of your life. When God says that something will happen, there is no force in the universe that can delay His clock; prepare yourself, because your season of harvest has begun.

“Therefore, tell them, ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says: No more delay! I will now do everything I have threatened. I, the Sovereign Lord, have spoken!’” Ezekiel 12:28 NLT

Think About It:

  • What promise from God or prophetic word have you felt has only been partially fulfilled in your life, and you need to believe again for its total fulfillment?
  • Are there negative people or attitudes in your environment that you need to distance yourself from so as not to wear out your enthusiasm and anointing in this new season?

Take a moment today to declare in prayer that the delay is over and ask God to attract the right people to help you fulfill your original purpose.
