The book of Song of Solomon is a song or a poem, possibly from Solomon, directed to his wife. At the same time, it is a poem that also applies to Jesus’ deep relationship with his bride, which is his church. In chapters four through six, we find descriptions of admiration and a love that stands out for its exclusivity. In this passage, the husband declares that, even though there are countless queens and beautiful women, he has eyes only for his beloved. This is a powerful image that teaches us about the value of faithfulness, respect, and devotion, both in our own marriage and in our spiritual relationship with God.

And for those of us who are married, we have the beautiful responsibility of reflecting that love of Christ in our home. When we choose to value, respect, and be faithful to our spouse every day, we not only strengthen our family, but we also give a powerful testimony to the world that God’s principles work and bring true joy to our lives.
