It is better with friends
Then Daniel went home and told his friends Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah what had happened. He urged them to ask the God of heaven to show them his mercy by telling them the secret, so they would not be executed along with the other wise men of Babylon. Daniel 2:17-18 NLT
In life, we will face situations that overwhelm us and challenges that seem impossible to resolve with our own strength. When Daniel faced a great concern that threatened his own life, he did not try to handle the situation alone, but went home, sought out his friends, and asked them to pray for him. This story shows us the immense value of being surrounded by the right people in our moments of greatest need.
- Difficult times are easier to overcome with friends At some point, we all go through crises and problems, but the burden becomes much lighter and easier to overcome when we have the help of someone by our side. Like Daniel, we need to cultivate relationships where we can share our concerns and ask God for mercy in unity.
- Good times are better shared Not only difficulties, but also good times and seasons of restoration in our lives are enjoyed much more when we are accompanied by friends. It is a privilege to have someone sincere with whom to celebrate our daily victories.
- The difference between acquaintances and true friends Throughout our lives, we may have many acquaintances, but the reality is that only a few will become true friends. A real friend is one who does not judge or criticize you when you are in a weak moment or show yourself to be vulnerable.
- The true friend is there at all times Genuine friendships stay by your side at all times, both in abundance and in scarcity, in days of health and in sickness, or when you have fame and when no one knows you. They are people who enjoy being with you for who you are and not for what they can get from you.
- Friends bring you closer to God While simple relationships with acquaintances can draw you away from God’s purpose, true friends pray with you and bring you closer to Him. Our greatest example of this is Jesus, who becomes our best friend by revealing to us what He has received from the Father.
God’s design for us was never that we live isolated or face battles alone. Having an inner circle of trust not only provides us with emotional support, but also strengthens our faith by uniting us in the same spirit and purpose. Let us cultivate healthy and deep friendships that propel us to seek the face of the Lord, always remembering that with God’s backing and the support of true brothers in the faith, any challenge can be overcome.
