The Change of Our Destiny

The Change of Our Destiny

He told them to celebrate these days with feasting and gladness and by giving gifts of food to each other and presents to the poor. This would commemorate a time when the Jews gained relief from their enemies, when their sorrow was turned into gladness and their mourning into joy. Esther 9:22 NLT

The final chapters of the book of Esther show us one of the most impressive plot twists in all of biblical history. What began as a decree of death and imminent destruction designed by Haman’s pride was transformed by the invisible hand of God into a great victory for His people. King Xerxes allowed a new decree to be written that gave the Jews the right to defend themselves and emerge victorious. This reminds us that no matter how dark the picture looks or how irrevocable the enemy’s threats against us may seem, God has the power to reverse any situation and turn our mourning into celebration.

In our walk, we will face moments where circumstances will seem to dictate our defeat, but we must remember that our story is being written by the Creator of the universe. The same God who turned around the death sentence of the Jewish people is the one who fights our battles today. No matter what adversity has risen against you; keep the faith, because the time of divine redemption is approaching to transform your anguish into a feast of victory.

He told them to celebrate these days with feasting and gladness and by giving gifts of food to each other and presents to the poor. This would commemorate a time when the Jews gained relief from their enemies, when their sorrow was turned into gladness and their mourning into joy. Esther 9:22 NLT
