After reflecting on work, injustice, youth, and old age, the author reaches the definitive conclusion of our existence. In a modern world where it is easy to get distracted chasing materialism, money, power, or fame, Solomon reminds us that all of that is passing and temporary. In the end, the only thing that truly gives meaning and purpose to our lives, guaranteeing permanent success, is our relationship of respect and obedience to our Creator.
- Life without God lacks purpose Throughout the book, we see that seeking happiness solely in the things of this earth is chasing the wind. True and permanent success is based on the fear of God. Material things are passing and temporary, but everything we do should give glory to God and benefit people. Only in the Lord do we find a clear purpose to live with a mission, instead of a mediocre and materialistic life.
- The fear of God gives us wisdom and protection Fearing God is not being terrified, but having a reverent respect toward the person of God. This fear of God keeps us out of trouble that would steal our happiness and spares us many unnecessary sorrows caused by sin. In fact, the fear of God is the base and foundation for a life of long-term spiritual, family, social, and financial success.
- Obedience to His commands brings blessing God does not force us to obey, but we are wise when we decide to follow His instructions so that things go well for us and we can enjoy life. The Bible’s instructions are not meant to make our lives difficult, nor to annoy us, but for our own good. When we choose to obey wholeheartedly, He blesses our work, provides us with peace, and guarantees us a better future.
- Our actions have an eternal weight Ecclesiastes reminds us that God will evaluate each of our deeds. Our lives must be lived in the light of His truth, knowing that He continually watches us. Therefore, we must ensure that we live with uprightness, mercy, justice, and holiness in our daily walk, avoiding being lazy and striving to do everything with excellence.

Determine in your heart to honor the Lord in every daily decision, and you will experience the fullness of an abundant life that transcends the temporary and leaves an eternal mark.
