WHY DO PEOPLE STOP PERSEVERING?
1.- People give up because they don’t know how much longer their problem will go on. They ask themselves, “How much longer until this situation changes?!” They don’t know how much longer they will have problems in their marriage, how much longer their kids will spend doing drugs, how much longer until their parents stop being alcoholics, how much longer until their business takes off, etc. They are things that make people stop persevering and give up.
Remember:Jeremiah 29:11: For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future..” —The Word of the Lord.
I don’t know how much longer this difficulty (Covid-19) we’re going through will last, but I do know what God has said:
“Overflow with my grace” and I know that He will give us the victory and strength to continue moving forward. Don’tgive up!
2.- They don’t persevere because the Devil’s plan for them is to stop their purpose from God. The Devil has plans too, but his plans are to hold back and contain what God has placed in you. He asks himself, “How can I make these marriages stop serving God? What should I bring to the world to make everyone stop seeking God?” The devil has a plan to stop the plans God has for your life. He wants to destroy God’s purpose in you, deviate you from your destiny and don’t want you to go where God wants to take you.
His plan is to withhold the joy in your marriage, the joy of serving God. He wants to hold you back and doesn’t want you to be a Christian that is full of the Holy Spirit. But, you should tell him, “You can’t stop me. I am part of the remnant that perseveres until the end along with my family. We will not go down, but we will go from glory to glory, upwards, and the glory of God will be greater than the former.”
Think about it:
What were you about to give up on because you were tired of waiting?
Have you stopped seeking God?
Do you want to be part of the remnant that perseveres until the end along with your family?
