Attitudes to conquer

ATTITUDES TO CONQUER

“Then Caleb silenced the people before Moses and said, “We should go up and take possession of the land, for we can certainly do it” (Numbers 13:30 NIV).

Moses sent twelve spies to Canaan to evaluate the land, ten of them returned with a negative and discouraging report because they had the wrong attitude, meaning, “they saw that the problem in the land was bigger than God”. On the other hand, Joshua and Caleb returned with a different report, for they had adopted the right attitude. They balanced the obstacles, analyzed the alternatives that could bring a solution to the problem and they saw the same problem the other ten spies saw as a “piece of cake”. We need to learn to adopt the right attitude to conquer.

SEE PROBLEMS AS OPPORTUNITIES TO SEE GOD’S GLORY.
Joshua and Caleb remembered who was their God, realizing the giants only represented an opportunity for them to see God’s glory. If you are facing a giant in your family, it is time to get up like Joshua and Caleb did and give God the opportunity to manifest His power and love.

DECLARE WHAT IS POSITIVE AND DISCARD WHAT IS NEGATIVE: Numbers 13:32-33
The ten spies saw and spoke negatively about the promised land. Their words caused discouragement, fear and rebellion to all the people. Nevertheless, Joshua and Caleb declared that the land was rich and flowing with milk and honey. They didn’t see what was wrong with the land, instead they saw what was good in the land.

Do not concentrate on everything that is going wrong in the nations, in your family or in your life. Set your eyes on everything good that God has given you, and in the opportunities that the problems can bring about.

LET GO OF FEAR, HAVE FAITH AND BE BRAVE: Joshua 1:9
Joshua and Caleb let go of fear by choosing to be faithful and brave. They believed in their hearts that though their enemies seemed bigger than them, that that would not stop them from conquering the land, because their God was bigger than their problems.
It doesn’t matter how many giants are around you, it is time to arise in faith and courage in order to conquer that which stops you from progressing. It is time to overcome the giant of sickness, the misery, the defeat, the destruction, and the unhappiness that surrounds your home.

Think about it:

What is the right attitude you and I need to have to conquer our problems?
What areas in our life do you need to conquer?
What must we do to conquer the giants that stop us from progressing?
