GOD MAKES EVERYTHING GOOD
But Joseph replied, “Don’t be afraid of me. Am I God, that I can punish you? You intended to harm me, but God intended it all for good. He brought me to this position so I could save the lives of many people. (Genesis 50:19-20 NLT)
In this story, Joseph’s brothers wanted to kill him out of envy, but in the end, they sold him as a slave and caused much damage. However, Joseph forgave his brothers because he understood that God turned the bad they wanted to do to him into good.
Steps for God to use all things to bless you:
1. Receive the revelation that you are not an accident, and that God has a plan for you.
2. Choose to forgive those who have harmed you in life.
3. God makes all things work for good. And we know that God causes everything to work together[a] for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them. (Romans 8:28 NLT)
Gather all experiences, bitter and sweet, that you have been through. Mix them as ingredients for a cake and bake them so that a delicious dessert comes out.
4. Not only are you blessed, but you will be a blessing to many. (Genesis 50:20) When your pain heals, it turns into a blessing for others, since you can help them heal now that you’ve gone through the same situation.
But Joseph replied, “Don’t be afraid of me. Am I God, that I can punish you? You intended to harm me, but God intended it all for good. He brought me to this position so I could save the lives of many people. (Genesis 50:19-20 NLT)
Think about it:
Is there someone you need to forgive?
In what way do you think you can help others with what you’ve been through?
How can God use you to bless others in your church, school, work, etc.?
