Be careful with clumsiness

BE CAREFUL WITH CLUMSINESS

“Be careful, or your hearts will be weighed down with carousing, drunkenness and the anxieties of life, and that day will close on you suddenly like a trap…. Keep alert at all times. And pray that you might be strong… (Luke 21: 34,36 NTV NIV)

What should we be careful of? We must not allow our hearts to be hindered.

How is a person’s heart, mind and life hindered?

1.With the partying. Partying speaks of a life of laziness, irresponsibility, waste, an unstable person, without fidelity, loyalty or commitment.

2. Drunkenness. Drunkenness speaks of a person who loses their own domain, their composure, gentleness, common sense.
Today, not only does alcohol cause these effects. People have gotten drunk with power, fame, hate, resentment. Is there something that is making you react like a drunk?

3. Worries. Stress is an epidemic disease in this day in age. Constant worries leave us perplexed; they don’t allow us to see clearly. Anxiety hinders faith and steals vision.
Worries provoke us to make bad decisions because we are desperate, and a desperate person loses their sense of orientation. Just as the one who is drowning and, in their confusion, attempt to drown the lifeguard. In the same way, with a hindered heart, one can drown a marriage, friends and the people who love you most.

Solution:

Keep alert at all times. And pray that you might be strong enough to escape these coming horrors… (Luke 21:36 NLT)

Think about it:

In which of the three points mentioned, do you need to be careful in not hindering your heart?
What do you need to do to avoid drowning the people you love because of worries?
What concerns do you need to leave in God’s hands?
