Miraculous Signs

Miraculous Signs

A huge crowd kept following him wherever he went, because they saw his miraculous signs as he healed the sick.
John 6:2 (NLT)

The miracles Jesus performed were not a show; they were signs of the Kingdom of God in action. The crowd followed Him because they saw the manifestation of divine power through His hands. This reminds us that a living church is not sustained by dead traditions or human wisdom, but by the presence of God and the power of the Holy Spirit. Miraculous signs validate the message of the gospel and open hearts to believe in Christ.

  • Miracles attract people
Jesus healed the sick and set the oppressed free, and that awakened faith and hope in the crowd. Miracles were like bells announcing that the Kingdom had come.
  • A supernatural lifestyle glorifies God
It is not only about preaching with words but about living in a way that everything we do points to God’s power. When our victories, healings, and provisions glorify the Lord, others are drawn to Him.
  • True influence comes from God
Jesus did not seek for people to follow Him as a human leader, but that they would recognize the Father through Him. In the same way, our ministry must be based on the power of the Spirit, not on our eloquence.
  • God’s power confirms the message
Paul understood this well: his message did not rest on clever speeches but on a demonstration of the Spirit’s power (1 Corinthians 2:3–5). That is the key so that the glory does not belong to man but to God.
  • Our calling is to reflect Jesus
Just as Paul learned from Christ, we must also learn to depend completely on Him, so that our ministry is backed by signs that glorify God.

The church that lives in the power of the Holy Spirit will be a church that attracts the crowds—not to exalt itself, but so that the glory belongs to God and people follow Jesus Christ.

Think About It:

  1. Does your influence depend more on your words or on the power of the Holy Spirit?
  2. What areas of your life need to reflect more of God’s glory than human wisdom?
  3. Are you willing to live a lifestyle that points to Jesus and not to yourself?
