God’s Justice or Man’s Justice
May the LORD judge between us. Perhaps the LORD will punish you for what you are trying to do to me, but I will never harm you.
1 Samuel 24:15 (NLT)
We live in an imperfect world, damaged by sin, where at some point we will all face situations of injustice. We may be criticized, offended, discriminated against, or treated unfairly. In those moments, pain and frustration push us to react, but the Word of God shows us a higher path: trusting in the justice of the Lord.
- Injustice is a reality in a fallen world
No one is exempt from being treated unfairly. Acknowledging this reality helps us not to be surprised or become bitter when we face difficult situations, but instead to respond with wisdom. - Human vengeance only creates more damage
When we try to take justice into our own hands, we usually end up worsening the conflict and damaging relationships. Vengeance does not heal the heart or produce true peace. - Trusting God requires faith and humility
Allowing God to be our judge means letting go of control and trusting that He sees the whole truth. It is not always easy, but it is the path that frees our hearts from resentment. - David chose God as his defender
Even when he had the opportunity to take revenge, David chose not to do so. He preferred to trust that God would judge rightly. His security was not in his own strength, but in divine justice. - God’s justice is always perfect
God never makes mistakes, is not swayed by appearances, and knows the intentions of the heart. When we trust in His justice, we rest knowing that He will act at the right time and in the right way.
Choosing God’s justice over man’s justice guards us from impulsive decisions and allows us to live in peace. God does not ignore what we go through; He defends, rescues, and brings justice to those who trust in Him.
May the LORD judge between us. Perhaps the LORD will punish you for what you are trying to do to me, but I will never harm you.

Think About It:
- In what recent situation have you felt that you were treated unjustly?
- Are you trying to bring justice on your own, or have you entrusted that matter to God?
- What practical step can you take today to rest in the Lord’s perfect justice?
