Nothing is Impossible for God

Nothing is Impossible for God

For the word of God will never fail. Luke 1:37 (NLT)

This powerful reminder arises in one of the most amazing moments in biblical history: the announcement of the birth of Jesus to a virgin and the miraculous pregnancy of Elizabeth in her old age. The angel Gabriel was not just giving news, but establishing a fundamental principle about the nature of our Creator. For the Church, this truth is the anchor of our hope. Often, our circumstances seem like dead ends and our problems present themselves as invincible giants, but the Bible assures us that the limit of our capabilities is merely the stage where God begins to work His glory.

  • The reliability of His Word The NLT translation highlights that “the word of God will never fail.” This means that every promise written in the Scriptures is backed by the total power of the universe. If God said it, He has the resources, the authority, and the sovereignty to fulfill it, regardless of what physical or logical laws seem to stand in the way.
  • Overcoming human limitations God is not limited by our age, our health, our finances, or our past. What is “impossible” for us is an opportunity for Him to show His grace. The miracle begins when we stop looking at what we lack and start looking at the One who possesses everything, surrendering our logic to His omnipotence.
  • Faith as a response to the incredible Mary responded with faith to a situation that defied all reason. Believing that nothing is impossible for God requires a total surrender of our understanding. Faith does not deny the reality of the difficulty, but it recognizes a higher reality: that the God who created the stars can intervene in the smallest details of our daily life.
  • The purpose behind the impossible God does not perform the impossible just to exhibit His power, but to fulfill His plan of redemption. Every miraculous intervention in our life has the purpose of drawing us closer to Him and witnessing to others of His faithfulness. The impossible becomes possible so that the world knows there is a living God who still acts in favor of His children.

Resting in the omnipotence of God frees us from the anxiety of trying to solve everything with our own strength. When we understand that His Word is infallible, our prayer changes from a desperate plea to a declaration of confidence. Do not let the size of your mountain make you forget the size of your God. If you are facing a situation that has no human solution, rejoice, because you are in the perfect place to witness how the Word of God rises victorious above any impossibility.

Think About It:

  1. What is that “impossible” thing that is taking away your peace today and that you need to fully surrender to the Lord?
  2. What specific promise from the Bible can you declare today over your situation, trusting that His Word will not fail?

Do a memory exercise and remember a moment in the past where God did the impossible for you; use it as fuel for your current faith.
