Stewarding God’s Gifts
God has given each of you a gift from his great variety of spiritual gifts. Use them well to serve one another. 1 Peter 4:10 NLT
The apostle Peter reminds us that we are not on this earth by chance, nor have we come empty-handed. Our heavenly Father has placed a special combination of talents, resources, and abilities within each of us. However, these gifts were not given to us to hide out of insecurity or to use exclusively for our own selfish benefit, but to manage faithfully and put at the service of our family, our church, and society.
- God is the source of every gift Everything we are and every ability we have come directly from the Lord. He is the Creator who has equipped us, and we must acknowledge Him with deep gratitude and humility, without taking the glory that belongs to Him alone.
- We all have a special ability No one can say they have nothing to contribute. God has given each of us a gift; you have abilities uniquely designed to fulfill your original plan and purpose on this journey of success called life.
- We are stewards, not owners What we have has been entrusted to us for a certain time. A good steward does not bury or waste the Master’s resources, but invests, develops, and multiplies them with excellence.
- The purpose of our gifts is to serve Our abilities were not given to us to make us famous, encourage arrogance, or fill us with pride. Their primary purpose is for us to serve one another in love, adding value to the people within our sphere of influence.
- We reflect God’s grace When we use what God has lent us to help others, we become visible channels of the Father’s unconditional love, bringing healing, comfort, hope, and solutions to a world in need.
When we understand that we were designed with a divine assignment, our lives take on true meaning. We stop existing only for ourselves and begin living to enrich others. Dare to use what you have in your hands right now, because when you serve people with your talents, you are actually serving God and leaving a powerful legacy of blessing that will impact future generations.

Think About It:
- What talents or abilities has God placed within you that you may have kept hidden or unused?
- How could you begin using those gifts to serve and bless others in your church or community this week?
- Are you acting as a good steward of what God has entrusted to you, or have you been using your abilities only for your own benefit?
