God’s Masterpiece
“For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.” Ephesians 2:10 (NLT)
In this world, it is very easy to feel that we are the product of an accident or that our lives lack a clear sense of purpose. However, when we come to Christ, we discover that the Creator of the universe meticulously designed us and that our existence has a powerful reason behind it. We are not here to live aimlessly but as the result of a divine and intentional design, created with the ability and the commission to bring blessing wherever we go.
- I am a work of God We did not come to this earth by mere accident; we are a direct and planned creation of God.
- I am His masterpiece We are not just any work or an ordinary creation; we human beings are the best that God made.
- He created me anew in Christ Although sin and our human flaws had ruined us, God saved us and made us a new creation in Christ. He gave us another opportunity to fulfill the original purpose for which He created us.
- I have a specific purpose God saved us “so that” we could “do good things.” We are called to be a blessing to our families, our cities, and our schools, bringing that blessing wherever we go.
- A plan prepared in advance Our purpose on earth is not an improvised idea but something our heavenly Father prepared a very long time ago. We have the responsibility and the privilege of doing something good with our lives.
Recognizing our identity as the Lord’s most valuable work of art completely changes the way we live each day. We stop following the current of the world and begin investing our time, talents, and resources in those good works that positively impact our families and our society. By accepting that we were created anew with an eternal purpose, we find the true motivation to achieve the success in every area of life that He meticulously planned for us before we were born.

Think About It:
- How does knowing that you are God’s masterpiece change the way you value yourself today?
- What are those good works or talents that you feel God has prepared in advance for you to put into practice?
- Identify a specific, positive action you can take this very week to be a blessing at work or at home.
