We Are No Longer Slaves but Children

We Are No Longer Slaves but Children

“Now you are no longer a slave but God’s own child. And since you are his child, God has made you his heir.”  Galatians 4:7 (NLT)

For a long time, humanity lived under the weight and bondage of its own mistakes, bound to a system that produced only fear, guilt, and distance. However, the sacrifice of Jesus Christ radically changed our spiritual and legal standing before the Creator. We no longer have to live with a mentality of servitude, begging for love or acceptance in the wrong places, because we have been rescued and adopted into the most important family in the entire universe.

Walking with our heads held high is the only logical response to the immense gift of divine adoption. When we deeply understand that we belong to the King of kings, fear of the future, anxiety over crises, and the need for human approval disappear completely. Living each day with the revelation that we are truly His children inspires us to leave a legacy of security and faith for future generations, demonstrating through our actions that God’s love transforms any empty life into an existence filled with purpose.

“Now you are no longer a slave but God’s own child. And since you are his child, God has made you his heir.”  Galatians 4:7 (NLT)

Think About It:

  1. Is there any attitude of slavery, fear, or guilt from the past that you still need to release to live fully as a child of God?
  2. In what practical way can you demonstrate today, at home or at work, that you trust in the inheritance and provision the Father has for you?
  3. Set aside a special time in prayer to thank God for adopting you into His family, and ask Him to help you walk in the assurance of your new identity.
