What Am I Sowing

What Am I Sowing

“Don’t be misled—you cannot mock the justice of God. You will always harvest what you plant.”  Galatians 6:7 (NLT)

In our daily lives, we are constantly planting seeds in the hearts of the people around us and in our own circumstances. Today, we reflect deeply on the unbreakable law of sowing and reaping, remembering that we will inevitably reap the exact fruit of everything we have been sowing through our actions, words, and attitudes.

  • The consequences of our seeds  According to this powerful biblical principle, we can reap good things from the good seeds we plant, but we will also face the reality of reaping bad things if we scatter bad seeds.
  • Evaluating our conduct  It is natural to feel a little concerned when we consider that, throughout our lives, we have sown both kinds of seeds. At times, we have sown much kindness and patience, but occasionally, we have also treated others with impatience or anger.
  • Withering bad harvests  We do not have to live in fear because of our past mistakes. We can approach the Lord and ask His forgiveness for the seeds of the flesh we have sown, declaring in the name of Jesus that those bad seeds wither from the roots like the fig tree and will not produce negative harvests.
  • Self-awareness to sow better seeds  We need God’s help to remain aware of what we do each day, asking Him to give us the wisdom and grace to intentionally sow many more good seeds in our surroundings.
  • God rewards our effort  The Lord is just and does not forget all the good seeds that we and our families have sown throughout this life. We can trust that He will cause our good actions to be blessed and produce abundant harvests of spiritual, family, social, and financial blessings.

No matter what kind of harvest you are experiencing today, you always have the opportunity to begin planting a different garden for tomorrow. By keeping our focus on doing good and treating others with the grace God has given us, we secure a future filled with abundant fruit. Let us remain firm in faith and not grow weary of sowing generously, knowing that the Creator will honor every small effort we make to live according to His principles.

“Don’t be misled—you cannot mock the justice of God. You will always harvest what you plant.”  Galatians 6:7 (NLT)

Think About It:

  1. What kinds of seeds—words, attitudes, or actions—have you been sowing in your family over the past week?
  2. Is there any bad seed of anger or impatience for which you need to ask God and someone else for forgiveness today?
  3. What specific, positive action will you sow today at work or at home to ensure a good harvest in the future?
