Pass It On

Pass It On

After you have read this letter, pass it on to the church in Laodicea so they can read it too. And you should read the letter I wrote to them.
Colossians 4:16 (NLT)

The apostle Paul understood that the knowledge of God is not meant to be kept hidden, but to be shared. When a community received a letter, they did not store it away as a private keepsake—they passed it along to other believers so they too could be built up. Just as they shared the teachings of God, we today are also called to pass on what we have received. The Word is not only for personal consumption, but for collective transformation.

  1. What we receive from God must be shared
If God has spoken to us, taught us, or transformed us through His Word, we do not keep it to ourselves. We share it. If we have been healed, encouraged, or instructed, we must also build up others.
  2. Studying together is part of spiritual growth
Paul expected the letters to be read in groups. In the same way, we should continue studying with others, learning in community. Faith is strengthened when we build one another up in the truth.
  3. Teaching does not end with a series or meeting
What God began in a series like “Healing Decisions” must continue. We should keep studying together, praying, sharing meals, and connecting with others to grow in faith and unity.
  4. The community needs what you have already received
Maybe you have already read, understood, and been blessed. Now pass it on. There are others who need to hear what you already know. Your testimony, your learning, and your example can impact someone else’s life.
  5. What we receive by grace, we give by grace
We do not share out of obligation, but out of gratitude. God has given us so much that we cannot keep silent. Pass it on—share a teaching, a word, a verse, a prayer, a meal—and watch how God uses it to bless others.

Think About It:
• With whom can I share something God has taught me this week?
• Am I seeking spaces to study, pray, and grow with others in faith?
• What recent teaching or blessing do I need to “pass on” to someone today?
