Wash

WASH

He came to Simon Peter, who said to him, “Lord, are you going to wash my feet?” (John 13:6 NIV)

Washing tells me about cleaning something.
It makes me think of removing impurities, removing stains, shaking off dust, polishing or polishing something, making something shine and bringing out its true color.
You can wash your clothes, dishes, car, floor, head, feet, body, etc.

“Then wash my hands and head too, Lord, not just my feet!” Simon Peter exclaimed. (John 13:9 NLT)

We can wash not only our body but our heart, our soul, and our mind.,

… Jesus answered, “Unless I wash you, you have no part with me.”… John 13:8 NIV

Jesus washes us with his Word; he washes our self-destructive thoughts, toxic emotions such as hatred, fear, resentment, bitterness, etc.
Jesus washes our eyes to have vision. By faith we can see the great things.

We can see the plans he has for our life.  “For I know the plans I have for you”, declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future” (Jer 29:11)
I can do all this through him who gives me strength. (Fil. 4:13)

Washing speaks to me of smelling clean and rich, of an attractive smell that inspires integrity so that others approach me with confidence.

Think about it:
What has the word of God washed away?
What do you need God to wash?
What has changed in you after Jesus washed your heart and mind?
