Mercy on Earth – Part 2

Mercy on Earth – Part 2

“This is what the Lord says: ‘Don’t let the wise boast in their wisdom, or the powerful boast in their power, or the rich boast in their riches. But those who wish to boast should boast in this alone: that they truly know me and understand that I am the Lord who demonstrates unfailing love and who brings justice and righteousness to the earth, and that I delight in these things. I, the Lord, have spoken!’”
Jeremiah 9:23-24 (NLT)

In a world where success is often measured by wisdom, power, or wealth, God reminds us that true value is not found in what we possess but in how well we know Him. It is not about accumulating riches or achieving prestigious positions but about seeking God with a sincere heart. His desire is for us to understand His character and reflect it in our daily lives.
What God Desires on This Earth

  1. That We Know Him Intimately
    • God does not seek a superficial relationship with us; He longs for us to know Him deeply and personally.
    • Knowing God is not just about learning facts about Him—it is about experiencing Him in our daily lives.
  2. That We Understand Him
    • It is not enough to know God; we must also understand His character and His will.
    • His unfailing love, His justice, and His righteousness should be principles that guide our decisions.
  3. That We Show Mercy
    • God calls us to treat others with the same compassion He has shown us.
    • Mercy is not just feeling sorry for someone; it is acting with kindness and forgiveness toward those around us.
  4. That We Practice Justice
    • God is just, and He calls us to live with integrity.
    • Practicing justice means making righteous decisions and standing for truth, even when it is difficult.

God reminds us that power, fame, and wealth are temporary, but what truly matters is how much we have known Him and reflected His character on earth.
Think About It:

  1. Are you investing more time in knowing God than in pursuing earthly success?
  2. How can you reflect His mercy and justice in your daily life?
  3. What actions can you take today to demonstrate that you truly understand and know God?
