To Him Who Has, More Will Be Given
“So take the money from this servant, and give it to the one with the ten bags of silver. To those who use well what they are given, even more will be given, and they will have an abundance. But from those who do nothing, even what little they have will be taken away.” Matthew 25:28-29 (NLT)
God is a God who entrusts resources, talents, and opportunities to His children. This teaching comes from the parable of the talents, where Jesus shows that faithfulness and the good use of what we have received open the door to greater responsibility and blessing. God does not measure our life by how much we have, but by how we use what He has entrusted to us. Faithfulness in the small things is the path to spiritual abundance and the fulfillment of purpose.
- God has entrusted something to each of us No one is empty. God has deposited talents, skills, time, and opportunities in every person. It may seem like little from our perspective, but in God’s hands, everything has a purpose and potential.
- God expects us to use what we have received The servant who did not use his talent lost it. This teaches us that God desires us to act, to be diligent, and to put into practice what He has given us. Growth occurs when we use our gifts with faith and responsibility.
- Faithfulness opens the door to greater blessing The verse says that to the one who uses well what they have, more will be given. God entrusts more to those who demonstrate faithfulness. Each act of obedience and responsibility prepares us for greater opportunities.
- Passivity produces loss The servant who did nothing lost even what he had. This warns us that a lack of action can stall our growth. God calls us to act with faith, not to live with fear or passivity.
- Abundance is the result of constant faithfulness The abundance God promises is not just material, but spiritual: growth, maturity, influence, and purpose. When we are faithful, God expands our capacity and our impact.
God has entrusted you with something valuable. Do not ignore or underestimate it. Use your gifts, serve with faithfulness, and act with faith. Each step of obedience opens the door to new blessings. Remember that God multiplies what we put in His hands with a faithful heart.
“So take the money from this servant, and give it to the one with the ten bags of silver. To those who use well what they are given, even more will be given, and they will have an abundance. But from those who do nothing, even what little they have will be taken away.” Matthew 25:28-29 (NLT)
Think About It:
- Am I faithfully using the talents and resources that God has given me?
- Is there something that God has called me to do and I have been postponing?
- What step can I take today to multiply what God has placed in my hands?
