Will We Go After Them?

Will We Go After Them?

“…my sheep have been scattered without a shepherd, and they are easy prey for any wild animal. They have wandered through all the mountains and all the hills across the earth, yet no one has gone to search for them.”
Ezekiel 34:5-6 (NLT)

This passage reflects one of the most painful images in God’s heart: seeing His sheep—people—wandering alone, without direction, protection, or spiritual guidance. In the context of Las Vegas, this scene is more real than we imagine. There are broken families, confused youth, adults weighed down by guilt, and multitudes simply surviving without purpose. The problem is not only that they are lost, but—as the text says—no one has gone out to look for them. God not only sees their pain; He also sees our indifference. What will we do about it?

  • Sheep scatter when there is no spiritual care
Many people stray not because they want to, but because they never found someone to guide them. We need to be shepherds in our circles, caring for and embracing those who have drifted away.
  • Scattering leaves people vulnerable
Without covering, without community, and without direction, anyone becomes easy prey for the enemy. We must see this with spiritual urgency, not judgment.
  • The world is full of people wandering without purpose
Not just physically, but emotionally, spiritually, and mentally. They walk without knowing where they’re going, carrying wounds no one has cared for. And we have the answer they need: Christ.
  • Lack of action is also a message
When we don’t go after them, silence turns into indifference. God not only calls us to see, but to move with compassion.
  • Healing decisions begin with going out to search
This series challenges us to go beyond the church seat. We are healed when we help others heal. We restore when we lift up the fallen. God’s heart has always been to go after the one who is lost.

Think About It:

  1. Who do I know that has been wandering spiritually and needs me to go after them?
  2. Have I been indifferent to someone’s pain or absence?
  3. What steps can I take this week to reach out to someone and reflect the love of Christ?
