A REAL DISCIPLE IS FILLED WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT

Once when he was eating with them, he commanded them, “Do not leave Jerusalem until the Father sends you the gift he promised, as I told you before. John baptized with[a] water, but in just a few days you will bebaptized with the Holy Spirit.” (Acts 1:4-5 NLT)

To be a true disciple you need Jesus’ promise, “Don’t go” to serve or preach without that gift: “The Holy Spirit.”

We can’t be a disciple of Jesus during these difficult times without the promise of the Holy Spirit.

You cannot succeed without the Holy Spirit, you’re going to be a believer, but you will not be a disciple, you will not go very far without Him, your family will not be successful without Him.

But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere—in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” (Acts 1:8 NLT)

You’ll be empowered to be. You know why you can’t be the husband you want to be? You know why you’re so hard at fighting vices and controlling your temper? Because you cannot be what you want to be without the power of the Holy Spirit, to be and do what we want is not humanly possible; we cannot be disciples of Jesus without the Holy Spirit.

We must have more intimacy with Jesus to be filled with the Holy Spirit, we shouldn’t only say, “I know of Jesus”, but “I know Jesus”.

Many live without purpose, when God has given us the promise of the Holy Spirit to be His witnesses. Witness: A person who says what he saw and heard. Talk about what happened to you in your life through Jesus.

Think about it:

Have you received the gift of the Holy Ghost?
Have you been fighting to succeed in your strength?
Do you know of Jesus, or do you know Jesus?
