Giving should be voluntary

GIVING SHOULD BE VOLUNTARY

The Lord said to Moses: Tell the children of Israel to bring Me an offering. From every man who gives willingly with his heart you shall receive My offering. (Exodus 25:1-2)

The offering must be voluntary and come from the heart in order to be blessed.
The offer or must give willingly and from the heart in order to be blessed.
God told Moses to accept offerings from those people who had a generous heart. That makes me think that it’s implied that there would be other offerings that he shouldn’t accept; meaning those people who did it by force, out of guilt, or pressure.
The person with a Judas heart feels pain, remorse and anger when giving something for God or for people. But generous people’s hearts don’t hurt when they give.
You will give generously, and your heart will not hurt when you give, for the Lord your God will bless you for this in all your work and in everything you undertake.
….“You shall open wide your hand to your brother, to the needy and to the poor, in your land.’ Deut. 15:10-11 ESV
The generous heart feels joy in giving!
God doesn’t want us to give out of necessity, or pressure, or guilt.

Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. 2 Cor. 9:7 NIV

Think about it:
How do you feel after giving?
Do you give voluntarily and wholeheartedly or out of pressure?
Why do you think it’s important to have a generous heart?
